Job Description:
The Sales Manager will play a critical role in achieving sales targets while ensuring smooth retail operations and an exceptional customer experience. This role involves managing and mentoring the sales team, assisting in direct customer sales, and working closely with the Operations Director to align strategies with company objectives. The Sales Manager will not only oversee operations but will also lead by example by attending to customers and assisting the team on the sales floor.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Growth and Target Achievement:
- Drive the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets set by the Operations Director.
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance sales performance and maximize revenue.
- Analyze sales reports and customer trends to develop actionable insights to increase revenue.
Customer Engagement and Sales Support:
- Actively participate in selling and attending to customers to create a luxury shopping experience.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, including VIP customers, to drive loyalty and repeat business.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and inspire the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to improve team performance and product knowledge.
- Conduct regular team briefings and communicate sales goals and expectations clearly.
Operational Oversight:
- Supervise daily retail operations to ensure smooth functionality, including inventory management, store cleanliness, and display standards.
- Assist in preparing and implementing sales campaigns, promotions, and loyalty programs in collaboration with the marketing and digital teams.
- Ensure all team members adhere to company policies and SOPs for in-store operations.
Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with the Operations Director to align on strategies and action plans for achieving company goals.
- Coordinate with the customer service team to ensure seamless after-sales support.
- Prepare detailed sales reports and updates for the Operations Director, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas of improvement.
Brand Representation and Merchandising:
- Ensure the store and team maintain a luxury brand image in customer interactions, visual merchandising, and overall store appearance.
- Oversee the implementation of visual merchandising guidelines and ensure product displays are attractive and aligned with brand standards.
Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor individual and team performance, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement performance improvement plans for underperforming team members.
- Regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of sales processes and strategies.
Innovation and Growth:
- Introduce innovative sales techniques to improve customer engagement and drive sales.
- Identify opportunities to expand the customer base and reach new market segments.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Sales Manager or similar role in the luxury retail industry. Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering exceptional service. Ability to analyze data and use insights to drive sales and improve performance. Proficiency in POS systems, CRM software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Hands-on approach to leadership and a willingness to assist the team on the sales floor.
