PROCESS – Upon receipt, The Closet will take all necessary steps to sell your item(s). Items will be sold on The Closet's website, and in our retail boutique. The Closet is following “First-In, First-Out” Policy in website listing and all items are on queue to be posted. The Closet shall decide to which branch the item/s is/are to be displayed. Selections of items are based on the demand of each branch. The display period shall be 60 days from the date agreed on the price quotation.
AUTHENTICITY – Upon authentication or after sale if item/s is/are found to be counterfeited; there will be an authentication fees of AED 5000 each for Hermes and Chanel brands and AED1000 each for other brands excluding shipping charge/s. For watch and jewelries, an authentication fee of AED5000 each shall also apply if determined inauthentic. The seller agrees to return all funds issued for such item/s to The Closet.
LAYAWAY – The item/s can be put on layaway for 30 days as one of the programs of the Company wherein 10% should be deposited. The item will be out of the display and considered sold until the balance is made. The deposited amount is non-refundable in case of cancellation. The 10% deduction will take effect as reduced amount to the item and that consignor can only take his/her settlement once the item is completely sold.
PREMATURE RETURN OF ITEM(S) – If the Consignor decides to terminate the agreement early or before the (60 days) consignment period ends, there will be a corresponding AED500 charge for Hermes and Chanel items; and AED300 for the rest of the brands that will apply per item excluding shipping charge/s. The Closet shall require ten working days’ notice and return will be from Monday to Friday from 10AM to 6PM.
PAYMENT – Settlement will be through bank transfer only. Consignor will bear bank charges if any. The Closet will be requiring all the necessary information to process the payment as per the schedule below.

Note: If the specified days falls on Saturday and Sunday and Holiday, settlement shall be prepared on the next office working day. The Consignors shall comply with their bank details after their approval/confirmation to proceed with selling. Failure of submission will cause delays on settlement processing.
CONSIGNOR CREDIT – Consignor shall have 5% bonus on each settlement proceeds which only be applicable providing that he/she shall use the payouts in buying item/s from The Closet. The 5% bonus shall be forfeited if it will not be utilized in buying.
UNCLEARED STATUS – In case the item is out for delivery to a buyer or under the Layaway Program, consignor shall not be allowed for collection or request the settlement until the status is completely cleared.
CONDITION OF THE ITEM/S– There might be a high possibility for items to get some scratches on the leather and metal parts; and for shoes to its platform and soles during the display. For the said reasons, The Closet shall not be held liable for having the specified condition and that Consignor understand and agreed into it
NATURAL CHANGES – In any case, the item/s remains unsold; The Closet shall not be liable to any natural changes of the item i.e. hardware or/and leather color change or any equivalent. Consignor fully understand that item/s is/are exposed for display and changes is a natural condition
RESPONSIBILITY - Valuable thing/s which is/are left behind inside consignor’s belonging, The Closet shall not be liable/accountable nor chargeable for any lost. It is consignors’ responsibility to check that there’s nothing left inside their bags prior to sending to The Closet for selling.
DISCLAIMER- If consignor failed to collect the unsold item/s or items under quotation within 30 days of written notice, ownership of these items shall be devolved to The Closet who shall have the right to dispose the items as it likes and receive sales proceeds; and the consignor shall not have any rights or claims for the item(s) or its price.
VERIFICATION – The consignor shall agree to allow The Closet in sending the item to its main manufacturer to guarantee authenticity which normally takes (3-5) months.
DECLARATION – The consignor shall agree to the declaration of the full information of the item/s. This refers to the name and contact no. of the person who purchased the item/s from the brand. This means allowing The Closet to provide such information to the buyer whenever it is necessary after getting the item sold. The Closet reserves the right to charge the consignor in full amount declared on the selling price of the item after which the item has been validated to be of counterfeited after selling.
LOSS OR DAMAGE/INSURANCE - The Closet has insurance for all our retail shops and insured from all risks of fire, theft, accidental damage or breakage, any acts of nature resulting or any damage to the item until agreed-upon items are delivered to The Closet at the contracted shipping address. In case any of the above happened, The Closet shall pay the agreed percentage/amount to the owner.
